In honor of the full moon in August -- one of the full moons during the next few months which can be celebrated by the Japanese festival of Tschimi -- I thought I would post a short album that showcases the kimonos I've been lucky enough to obtain from two marvelous ebay sellers. The woman who makes kimonos to sell was trained in Japan and does beautiful work. Through a link in one of her auctions, I found someone who sells real Japanese kimono silk. I've been a silk addict ever since!
Happy Full Moon Night!

I got stuck halfway through posting the first time. Wonder if this one will work?
Edited to add that this link appears to work. The first one must have gone through the internet transmogrifier while it clocked for five minutes!

Thanks! I owe a lot to SN. I just couldn't get the neckline on my own kimono design to work the way I wanted it to. Originally I bought one of hers (actually two, by accident) and studied the proportions to improve my design. Now I'm happily back to fooling around with my own pattern. But in the meantime I've gotten hooked on hers. She posts three new kimonos every Thursday night, as a rule, and I've only missed what I wanted twice!
I don't think I'm allowed to say the seller's full name here but feel free to PM me if anyone else wants to buy from her. I've gotten to know her quite well and she's very nice. She likes cats, too, which is always a BIG PLUS for me!

They're all beautiful, but I like some of yours the best. Gina's kimono is my favorite; the obi is so perfect! And I love the blue scrap yukata (you didn't mention the doll's name but she has the pretty pink flowers in her pigtails). Please keep posting your beautiful kimono and yukata pictures; Nellie needs one so if you keep it up I might get around to making her one someday!

Love them, Cherry! Jess says hi to your girls (well, all my girls say hi to your girls). I still can't get over how beautiful she is in her kimono. It's hard to get her to wear anything else!
